IMM RAID link fails when PCIe RAID adapter is installed in System x – Lenovo Server
Symptom
Users are unable to see the RAID adapter’s status and log information on IMM WebUI correctly. This behavior can be corrected even with an AC, DC cycle or UEFI/IMM firmware update. A side effect of this situation is that the PCIe RAID adapter will have a controller over-temp event triggered in the RAID log.
(where IMM = Integrated Management Module, UEFI = Unified Extensible Firmware Interface, PCIe = Peripheral Component Interconnect Express, RAID = Redundant Array of Independent Disks)
Affected Configurations
The system may be any of the following Lenovo servers:
- Lenovo System x3550 M5, Type 5463, any model
- Lenovo System x3550 M5, Type 8869, any model
- Lenovo System x3650 M5, Type 5462, any model
- Lenovo System x3650 M5, Type 8871, any model

The following system BIOS/uEFI level(s) are affected: UEFI
The system has the symptom described above.
Solution
This behavior has been corrected in UEFI version tbe144j-3.11 for x3550 M5 and tce144j-3.11 for x3650 M5.

Workaround
No workaround.
Additional Information
An issue in the UEFI code resulted in the situation. UEFI delivers wrong PCIe slot information in PCIe map to the IMM RAID link algorithm, so IMM RAID link will not provide the correct information on the WebUI and moreover, it will not follow the correct thermal profile to cool down the RAID adapter.
